In the 1980s it was “everybody wants to rule the world” but now it’s the 2020s and instead it’s “everybody wan’ts to end the world.”
Putin wants to end it. Trump wants to end it. Anthropic, OpenAI, and SpaceX want to end it. Of course most of the religions have long wanted to end it. Ending the world is big business.
The sad thing is that in the same way that everyone (Republicans and Democrats alike) want to end America and democracy, and thus we’ll probably see an end to both, we’ll probably also see an end to the world since most people are so caught up in wanting it to be so.
