On my first personal Word Wide Web site more than ten years ago, I had no graphics and no photos. Somewhere on it, I jokingly said I’d get a scanner soon and post some photos of myself. At the time, off-brand 150dpi greyscale scanners were like $500.
Last night I bought a 36-bit color HP 1200dpi USB scanner for $0.90, exactly four cents more than a bean burrito at Taco Bell.
